RefreshEd works to build burnout-resilient schools through the power of relationships.
Our
Values
Sustainability
RefreshEd doesn’t offer quick fixes or “one and done” workshops. We can’t fix burnout by using the same approach that’s causing the problem. RefreshEd is committed to creating long-term and lasting transformation through consistent and intentional support.
Risk-Taking
We learn by doing the work. We can’t keep doing what’s always been done and we can't be afraid to fail, reflect, and improve. In order to build the school community our students and educators deserve, we must try new things and be willing to learn and grow from the experience.
Collaboration
The goal of RefreshEd is to build on the excellent work that is already happening in your community. Instead of offering “one size fits all” solutions and forcing you to conform to our idea of success, RefreshEd will work to integrate effective practices into your school’s vision by collaborating with students, teachers, support staff, and families.
Equity
RefreshEd’s work is entirely filtered through an asset-based lens. That means honoring and celebrating the strengths of your students, educators, and families. Every action we take together is designed to create a loving community where everyone is welcome and empowered to succeed regardless of race, gender, sexuality, language, ability, religion or class.
“To teach in a manner that respects and cares for the souls of our students is essential if we are to provide the necessary conditions where learning can most deeply and intimately begin.”
